Responsibilities:
- 1. Motivating and encouraging internal and external design teams.
- 2. Ensuring drawings and designs are produced on time
- 3. Overseeing the design process using technical expertise
- 4. Working with clients to ensure that their expectations are met
- 5. Avoiding errors and reducing financial risk during manufacturing
- 6. Maintaining thorough documentation of the design process
- 7. Working in an office, with occasional site visits.
- 8. Design skills and knowledge of engineering science and technology
- 9. Able to come up with new ways of doing things
- 10. Be thorough and pay attention to detail
- 11. Strong analytical thinking skills
- 12. Persistence and determination
- 13. Leadership and motivational skills
- 14. Able to use a computer and the main software packages competently
- 15. Preferably with a factory automation background or machine development.
- 16. Familiar with factory automation components. Examples: pneumatic components, motors, conveyors, sensors, articulated robots.
- 17. Good understanding of the working principle of machine mechanisms.
- 18. Familiar in SOLIDWORKS, able to generate 2D drawings and 3D models (parts & assemblies).
- 19. The ability to perform 2D drafting using AutoCAD will be an added advantage.
